These
Uniforms rules may be updated and amended as needed.
Marching band uniforms will be provided by the Band. Use
of this uniform is dependent on proper care of the uniform
and payment of band fees. Damage or loss to the uniform
will result in the student having to replace the damaged
uniform part or parts.
The uniform pants will need to be hemmed in most cases.
Do not cut the uniform! Uniform pants which are cut must
be replaced at a cost of $100. Hems should drape to the
tops of the shoes without tenting or folding.
Uniform numbers will be assigned during band camp. After
assignments have been made, a quartermaster (student officer)
and the Assistant Band director will be in charge of keeping
up with these numbers. Each band member will have a band
t-shirt. This shirt is part of the uniform and is required
to be worn underneath the actual band uniform. Failure
to meet uniform requirements is grounds for disciplinary
action which may include loss of 3rd quarter break, loss
of performance privilege, or other action to be determined
by the band director.
- Instrumentalist
and Colorguard
your uniforms and garment bags are the property of the
Murray County Band. Even though the instrumentalist
uniforms were purchased by the School Board, we still
are responsible for replacing and cleaning them. These
uniforms are to be on their hanger at all times not
being worn. This includes to and from games and competitions.
Each of you have a garment bag and those should be carried
to and from games. In summation, the uniform either
needs to be on your
person or on a hanger in the garment bag...not stuffed
in a cubby hole in the storage room, stuffed on the
rack on the buses or stuffed in a carry bag...this makes
the uniforms un-presentable when we do our performances
and also allows for loss of buttons and tearing of uniforms.
Student at are responsible for taking care of the uniform
assigned to them. Consequences will be assigned for
failure to follow uniform rules.
When we go to competitions, please make sure and take
your garment bag and a change of clothes (blue jeans/shorts
and band T-shirt) as you will not be allowed to wear
your uniforms while you are not performing. You should
wear your band shirt under your uniform and take pants
to change into.
- Majorettes
and Colorguard
should bring a change of clothes, which includes their
band shirt and jeans/windsuit. They shall follow the
same rules as the other band members regarding storing
of uniforms. Majorettes are
the only section of the band that will clean their own
uniforms and keep in their possession.
Guard will be cleaned as the other band uniforms are
cleaned and should not be taken home.
Again,
all uniforms, except for Majorettes and Drum Majors, are
the property of the Murray County
Band and the above rules must be followed by every band
member!
Regards,
Band Staff and Band Booster Officers
