NONPARTICIPATION AS DISCIPLINE
2008-2009 SCHOOL YEAR
Discipline of teenagers is an important part of every parent’s job. Having one child in college and one in high school, I am very aware of the struggles that we all face as we teach our children to make the right choices. Sometimes the restriction of privileges and other actions are needed in order to make a point at home. However, it is not fair to punish the other members of the band or any other organization by intentionally causing a member to miss a rehearsal or performance. Therefore I am asking all of our parents to sign this agreement ahead of time to commit to making sure that their child is present at all rehearsals and performances.

  • I agree not to cause my child to miss band rehearsals and performances as part of any punishment which I may have to assign to my child.
  • I agree not to schedule non-essential dental or medical visits during band rehearsals or performances.
  • I agree not to schedule cosmetic appointments or shopping trips during band rehearsals or performances.
