Greetings Colleagues;

I hope your year is off to a great start! If you are still looking for a Marching Festival or Contest for October 10th, please consider the Ft. Mountain Classic at Murray County High School in Chatsworth, Georgia. We have a nice stadium which is very “band friendly” since it has good elevation of the stands and no track between the sideline and the bleachers. We offer festival and contest formats and our facility, judging philosophy, and classification system are supportive of smaller bands. Larger bands will get a thrill from playing to an audience that is up close and personal. We also offer an excellent hospitality room to the staff of participating bands.

We will use an Olympic style panel of five judges with high and low scores dropped. We have separate sweepstakes awards for high scores in A/AA and AAA/AAAA classes. There will also be specialty judges for drum majors, majorettes/dance teams, percussion, and colorguard. The full panel of judges will be listed on our website at www.murraycountyband.net as soon all confirmations from all of the judges have been received.

I am thrilled to announce that our exhibition band will be the Marching Southerners of Jacksonville State University! If you haven’t heard the Southerners, you are in for a treat!
