Responsibilities
Financial support is a cornerstone to the function
of a band program.
It provides both challenges as well as considerable
opportunities for band members and their families.
These funds pay for equipment truck rental for off-campus
events, maintenance of the concession stand, the
purchase of band supplies, uniforms and instruments,
maintenance of school-owned instruments and many
other expenses.
The costs of buying new sheet music, drill for marching
shows, uniform cleaning, transportation
costs, new marching instruments can appear very
daunting!
Therefore, the Band Parent Association must generate
the additional funds that are an absolute necessity
in order to have a meaningful and successful program.
If you have a son or daughter in the MCHS Band,
youre automatically a member of the MCHS Band
Boosters.
You dont have to sign up or pay dues.
You dont have to do anything, although there
are many opportunities to get involved
-- as much or as little as you like.
We need and welcome your
help!
All parents/guardians of students who are enrolled
in a band class
are voting members of the Band Parent Association.
An important and beneficial part of the total band
experience
is the opportunity to work together and earn the
funds needed to support the band program.
From this the student learns the necessity of making
the money to support his/her activities,
budget for the required payments, as well as to
work together with other band members and parents.
The team-building that goes on during these work
experiences supports the close working group that
makes up the MCHS Band.
This great organization requires a large team
effort.
Each parent and student has the responsibility to
join in;
whether you are a new Freshman or a seasoned Senior,
full year or half year student or new 8th grader!
This work not only builds and nurtures the Bands
and Flag Corps but also provides terrific
opportunities for friendship and camaraderie for
parents as well.
We have fun and there are many opportunities waiting
for you
to pull together to help our kids achieve their
potential.
Fundraising is necessary for the operation of our
band program.
If you want to roll up your sleeves and get involved,
there is something for everyone to do.
Many hands make light work!
Ask how you can help!

ELECTRONIC
MAILING LIST
|
In
an effort to reduce the cost of both paper and postage
and to better inform parents,
we will be sending all communications via e-mail.
A list of email addresses will be used to send out
news items, last minute changes, urgent needs, request
for feedback and newsletters. These methods provide
better and lower cost communications than sending
notes with students or mailing newsletters. Please
notify us if you will require paper communications.

volunteer form on page 16.)

"Finally,
brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable,
whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely,
whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and
if anything worthy of praise,
dwell on these things." -Paul of Tarsus
